Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is Crisp and Brilliant. I'm so proud of Tweety Bird aren't you? π Granny definitely is! I think he graduated Summa Cum Lada in the subjects of innocence and cheek-pinch-ability.
I have to admit, I stumped myself for this theme. The ideas for future themes just come to me but I don't always think them through lol. Was it easy for you to come up with something? I can't wait to see your creations!! By the way, check out the 2020 Art Date Themes I came up with last weekend during the last power outage. It's just a rough list and I'll add links and pages for inspiration as time goes on!
I'm also linking up with Paint Party Friday tomorrow!
I'm also linking up with Paint Party Friday tomorrow!
Here is my rainbow of pine trees - painted with brilliantly colourful watercolours.
And what better way to spend a crisp cool Autumn evening, than snuggling with the one you love? (Human or furball!!) I did this in watercolour as well.
It's been a busy week for me. It's monthly meal planning and shopping week! I have lots of comforting meals planned as winter starts to set in here in the mountains. Soups, stews, pastas and cheese..oh so much cheese! π Speaking of cheese, I opened my Monterey Jack yesterday and it was not quite what I expected! (See Rainy Day Cheese Making for the video!)
That's all for now folks, please check out the link widget below to see more Crisp and Brilliant artwork! Visit Paint Party Friday tomorrow as well for more lovely creative art. And please join me on Sunday for my food and pets post. πΎπΎπΎ

these rainbow trees are splendid and delightful :)
Loved the autumn evening painting ,amazingly created and so wisely dealt with selection of perfect characters and background :)
glad your cheese is fine though not finest but there are next times hopefully :)
wishing you days filled with joy and serenity ahead my friend!
hugs!
Hi Rain, brilliant art again from you. My fave today is the couple snuggling under the stars, but the whole post if vibrant and fun, from start to finish. Love the look of your cheese, I have been eating Norwegian brown cheese this week, which tastes a bit like caramel - crazy, but delicious! Love those ground hogs, we don't have them over here! Hugs, Valerie
beautiful artwork love them all. And...the cheese made me remember when I made my own many years ago. My grandmother tought me how to do it :)
Rain,
I love your take on 'brilliant' with the Granny and Tweety illustration. The brilliantly colored pine trees are awesome. Why didn't I think to doodle blazing fall colors across a mountainside today? *smack forehead* Oh well...I can't be brilliant all the time, I guess. A crisp fall evening. I imagine you have some of those kinds of evenings in Canada. We're fixing to get some ourselves this weekend and for the next several days a lot cooler than it has been. I'm not looking forward to that at all. Thanks for hosting this artsy fun community, dear friend. Have a good day!
I like your cuddling people in moonlight, have cheese envy!
The colourful evergreens are beautiful, I love that! The moon light snuggle is perfect, I’m afraid the crisp air is here for both of us now to stay for a while, thank you Rain for hosting again this week!
Lovely pieces for the theme starting with cute, brilliant littleTweety! Your cheese looks perfect to me! It is great that the themes just pop into your head and you run with them! I tend to overthink everything.
Nice nighttime sky in your watercolour!
I love the cowboy hats and the moon. Miss being able to draw and paint. It's a right handed skill for me and can't do it with my left although I've tried. My left hand lacks the dexterity.
I haven't painted. I haven't made cheese. I did create a gluten, sugar, and nut free cookie recipe though. It tastes like the real thing.
Hi Rain I love all of your art and photos. My fave is the colorful trees. Thank you for hosting Crisp and Brilliant.
I love the watercolours! The trees and the 2 of you sitting on the bench is perfection!
ahh so cute that top art piece and I always enjoy all of your art! and cheese making - and would enjoy it more if I could eat some! Your life is very full and seems to be so satisfying to you - you are an inspiration.
i LOVE the painting of you two in your hats!
I do like those colourful pine trees and your cheese looks delicious.
The baby groundhogs looks so sweet … great post.
All the best Jan
The trees (and cheese) look delightful.
Ahhh...sooo much cutness. I remember those baby groundhogs.
I love your pine trees ... what a beautiful painting and also the love doves under the moon :) nice !!
Heading over to your cheese video :)
What a great theme for this time of year. And what a great looking cheese! I'm on my way over to your cheese blog now!
Happy PPF and have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
You're welcome Baili :) I drew Granny for you! :) I kept hearing her voice too when I was drawing her! She's so proud of her little bird lol! :) The cheese is good, just not what I expected, but that's okay. I have to learn to accept the great successes with the not so great ones! I'm learning from that! :)
Thanks Valerie :) Happy PPF to you too! How interesting...I've never eaten Norwegian brown cheese! I had to look that up. I even found a recipe on how to make it. Next time I make a big batch of hard cheese, I'll save the whey to try that cheese. It looks delicious! Does yours have a cinnamon taste to it? The recipe I found calls for a dash of cinnamon. The ground hogs were so cute that summer. I watched them grow up and leave the nest. I have a video of them running up on my deck and checking things out!
Thanks Monica :) Making cheese is such a great skill and a rewarding hobby! Do you still make your own?
Thanks Cathy :) No I guess we all can't be brilliant all of the time lol ;) Yes, the evenings...and now the days are crisp and cold, and trust me, I'm not at all enjoying it. As I get older I tolerate cold a little less each winter!
Thanks Betty :) Oh cheese envy lol...that made me laugh!
Thanks Laurie :) I'm trying to find the positive side of that crisp winter air but haven't yet.
Thanks Christine :) I didn't even graduate with those honours...Tweety sure is brilliant! :) I don't know how all of those themes came to me honestly. I was sitting by candle light - maybe that inspired some creativity!
Thanks Debra :) That's how the skies look around here in the colder months!
Thanks Jo :) That's quite an accomplishment to make a cookie without the typical ingredients! I don't have the courage to veer too much in my baking.
Thanks Nicole :) Those trees cheer me up on days like today when it's so dark and cold outside!
Thanks Jenn :) I'm glad you noticed it was me and Alex on the bench! :)
Thanks Sandy :) Very sweet of you to say! :)
Thanks Joyce :) You noticed!!! :)
Thanks Jan :) Those baby groundhogs were so cute...I think I have hundreds of photos of them!
Thanks TB :) Nice rhyme :D
Thanks Sis :) The tree painting was so easy to do, I tend to overthink paintings sometimes, but simple is beautiful. The cheese is really good, but yeah, it's a Feta lol...
Thanks Leigh :) I was hoping to have more fall weather for this week's theme, but it's all white and cold out there now!
Thanks again Valerie :) Enjoy your weekend!!
Beautiful watercolor artworks ~ and love the sweet critters photo ~ lovely and creative post !

Oh Rain... I love the silhouette picture of you two sitting on a bench in the moonlight. :)
Thanks Becki :) The hats are a giveaway! :)
Hi so happy to meet you here too and enjoy all you share. I love your colored fur trees and that moon is just fabulous, it really shines!
Thanks so much for the time you took to leave me a comment over at dreamcolour-Kat. What a generous comment.
I am always late in visiting, life with my autistic daughter is challenging so I am not so good with getting round everyone on time. In fact I usually just make it to post on the Friday if at all.
But I have loved visiting you here and sharing in your creative corner, also very yummy I see here too. Enjoy your weekend and good food!
Blessings
Kat
My fave this week is the snuggling scene.

Thanks Linda :) That was inspired by real life! :)
