☠️ Thursday Art Date: Goblins and Trolls ☠️

2018 Watercolour

Hello Friends! 😊

October 1st's theme for our art date is: Goblins and Trolls (please visit Rain's Garden on Thursday October 1st to post your link!).

We are into Halloween month! My favourite month of the year!! Here are some definitions from the New World Encyclopedia:

A goblin is a mythical creature often believed to be the evil, or merely mischievous. Like many such creatures, there is no single version of a goblin; the term is more generic for those small creatures that live in dark places and cause trouble.

There are generally two categories of trolls: The first is the forest or mountain troll, a large, brutish, and dumb creature that resembles a disproportionately giant human. Often these creatures have exaggerated facial structures, such as jutting lower jaws and protruding brows, similar to the stereotypical image of a Neanderthal. They are scary and sometimes dangerous, but usually just intimidating because of their size and harmless.

The other type of troll is said to live underground, or in deep caves and caverns. They are smaller, sometimes smaller than humans, and often have disproportionately smaller features, such as short stubby arms and legs, although they tend to have a fatter abdomen. Trolls of this type are often uglier and depicted as grotesque.

Get creative! I can't wait to see what your imagination comes up with! Here are some internet images to inspire you:
