Homemade Ketchup

Homemade Ketchup
(makes a good 2 cups)


10 fresh tomatoes or 2 cans whole tomatoes
(I used my own canned tomatoes, 2 Mason jars)
4 apples, peeled and cubed
2 onions, cubed
2/3 cups white vinegar
1 3/4 cups brown sugar
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pickling spices (wrapped in cheesecloth to remove later)


Place everything in a pot, bring to a boil, stir frequently and simmer 1 hour, 15 minutes. (Or until it reaches the consistency you like).

Let it cool and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
