February 25th: Thursday Art Date With Rain - "February Films - Tragedies and Melodramas"

"Lonely" - Watercolour from 2019

Hello Friends! 😊😊

February 25th's theme for our art date is: "February Films - Tragedies and Melodramas" (please visit Rain's Garden on Thursday February 25th to post your link!).

I hope this description from Wikipedia inspires you - and remember, you don't have to be a film buff to join in! Anything that might inspire a Tragic or Melodramatic story will fit in very nicely! 😊

Tragedy is a form of drama based on human suffering and, mainly, the terrible or sorrowful events that befall a main character. A melodrama is a dramatic work wherein the plot, which is typically sensational and designed to appeal strongly to the emotions, takes precedence over detailed characterization. Melodramas typically concentrate on dialogue, which is often excessively sentimental, rather than action. Melodramas are typically set in the private sphere of the home, focusing on morality and family issues, love, and marriage, often with challenges from an outside source, such as a "temptress", a scoundrel, or an aristocratic villain.
