Belgian Waffles

Belgian Waffles

Makes about 4 waffles

1 egg yolk
1 cup whole milk
1 cup flour
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
8 tsp melted unsalted butter
1 egg white, beaten to stiff peaks


1. Preheat your waffle maker.

2. Put all ingredients except egg white into a large bowl. Mix with beaters on low until moistened. Increase speed to medium and mix until smooth.

3. Fold in the egg white very gently.

4. Pour about 3/4 cup of the batter into your waffle maker and cook for 5 minutes or until the steam stops escaping from the sides.
